If you have donated blood with Stanford Blood Center, then you’ve already been enrolled in our Loyalty Program and you have points you can spend in our donor store*! Each time you register to donate, you’ll earn points that you may redeem in our online Donor Loyalty Store. You’ll also have online access to your historical vital stats such as hemoglobin and blood pressure, as well as donation history. It’s our way of thanking donors for their generous support of our community’s patients!
*Please note: You must either register to donate within two years of your last donation or log into our donor portal or SBC app at least once within two years in order to keep your point balance.

Donation Point System
Whole Blood Donations
If you are a whole blood, platelet or plasma donor, points are earned on this schedule, per donation, within a calendar year:
- Visit 1 = 100 points
- Visit 2 = 125 points
- Visit 3 = 150 points
- Visit 4+ = 175 points
SuperRed (formerly Double Red Blood Cell) Donations
If you donate SuperRed (formerly DRBC), points are earned on this schedule, per donation, within a calendar year:
- Visit 1 = 200 points
- Visit 2 = 250 points
- Visit 3 = 300 points
- Visit 4+ = 250 points
Platelet Donations (or a combination of platelets and plasma donation)
If you are a platelet donor, points are earned on this schedule, per donation, within a calendar year:
- Visit 1 = 100 points x number of pints donated
- Visit 2 = 125 points x number of pints donated
- Visit 3 = 150 points x number of pints donated
- Visit 4+ = 175 points x number of pints donated
Plasma Donations (or a combination of platelets and plasma donation)
If you are a plasma donor, points are earned on this schedule, per donation, within a calendar year:
- Visit 1 = 100 points x number of pints donated
- Visit 2 = 125 points x number of pints donated
- Visit 3 = 150 points x number of pints donated
- Visit 4+ = 175 points x number of pints donated
Bonus Points!
In order to incentivize donations when and where we most need them most for patients, we are offering additional points for the following:
- Center Visit = 50 points
- Appointment Scheduled and Kept = 100 points
- Time of Day (12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m., +/- 10 minutes) = 25 points
- Bonus days: 1000 bonus points up to six times per year! Watch our promotions page for announcements or download the SBC app for notifications.
Donors can choose to redeem points for SBC branded items in our Donor Loyalty Store or can donate their points back to one of our community partners.

We try to keep the items in the Loyalty Store fresh and often add new items to keep encouraging donors to use their points, and have recently added more sustainable, recycled and reusable items ! Look for the leaf icon for environmentally-friendly items.

Give Good Program
The Give Good Program (which is part of our Donor Loyalty Store) is just another way that SBC gives back to our community. Through this program, donors can choose to “donate” their points to one of our community partners. The number points donated gets converted to a dollar amount at the end of our fiscal year, and the money is then presented to our community partner as a gift from SBC donors.

Donor Loyalty Program FAQs
As a show of appreciation to our donors, we award points for each attempted donation at SBC. Points can then be used to order a varity of fun items from our online Rewards Catalog. Popular items include Baskin Robbins coupons, travel mugs, shirts, caps and more.
Once you log into your donor account, your Store Points will appear on the dashboard. On the SBC App, points appear at the top of the SHOP tab.
Yes. After two years of inactivity (from donating and accessing the Donor Loyalty Store), points will expire. If you feel you have questions, please contact the SBC Donor Relations team at support@stanfordbloodcenter.org.
Yes. Even if you are unable to make a donation that day, we want to show our appreciation for the time you’ve taken to help our community’s patients. As long as you have registered to donate, your points will be automatically awarded, typically within 3 business days.
Yes. Research donors will accrue points at the same rate as whole blood, platelet, and plasma donors.
