Vanessa Merina

Vanessa joined Stanford Blood Center in July 2013, where, as Marketing-Communications Director, she leads marketing-communications, including strategy and execution of donor campaigns, community relations and media relations, managing educational and community partnerships and serving as spokesperson. Prior to the blood center, she spent six years as publications manager at the Public Policy Institute of California, co-founded an intercultural nonprofit in Bordeaux, France and held marketing and communications roles in the San Francisco Bay Area and Madison, Wisconsin. She enjoys taking on tough questions, sharing the story behind an organization and using innovative business for social good. She holds a BA and an MFA.
