STANFORD, Calif. — It’s almost time for the Big Game, where Stanford and Cal once again meet on the field for one of the most storied rivalries in all of college football. Did you know that every November, Stanford and Cal’s respective blood centers also have their own competition?

This year, the public is asked to donate blood at the November 15 drive and help the Stanford Cardinal achieve their 10th win in a row over the Bears. “All donors will receive a special commemorative Rivals for Life t-shirt,” Stanford Blood Center spokesperson, Loren Magaña, said. “Not only can donors help Stanford achieve a decade of dominance, they can also help save patients’ lives in the process.”

This year’s battle for blood will take place Wednesday, November 15, from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. at Stanford University, Arrillaga Center for Sports and Recreation (basketball courts) 341 Galvez Street (corner of Galvez & Campus Drive) Stanford, CA 94305.

Donors are encouraged to make an appointment ahead of time for this very popular drive.
