Stanford Blood Center now offers all SBC, Stanford Medicine, and Stanford University employees and volunteers* a special rewards program called the Employee Donation Incentive Program (EDIP).
To qualify, employees must donate:
- four (4) whole blood donations in a calendar year, or
- two (2) SuperRed™ donations in a calendar year, or
- a combination of two (2) whole blood and one (1) SuperRed donations in a calendar year, or
- four platelet donations in a calendar year
and you’ll get a voucher for a $50 e-gift card as a thank-you for your commitment to local patients!
How It Works
Visit stanfordbloodcenter.org or download the Stanford Blood Center mobile app to make a blood donation appointment. Walk-ins are welcome, too!
- Check-in for your donation and show your Stanford employee badge.
- Let the front desk know, as a Stanford employee, that you are part of the EDIP Rewards Program*.
- As you check-in for your appointment, the staff will ensure you get your EDIP card hole punched.
- Forgot your punch card? No problem – just let us know at registration.
- Once you fill up four (4) hole punches, turn in your EDIP Rewards Card and you’ll receive an EDIP Redemption Card with a unique code written on it, so you can choose your $50 e-gift.
- *Whole blood, SuperRed™, and platelet donations only.

Notes:
- Whole blood donors and SuperRed blood donors may redeem one (1) EDIP card per calendar year.
- Platelet blood donors may redeem up to six (6) EDIP cards per calendar year, one after every four (4) donations.

- You must have a valid Stanford-issued employee or volunteer badge to participate in this program.
- Gift may be combined with other offers.
FAQS
You can visit any of our donation centers or mobile blood drives by walking in or scheduling an appointment. When at registration, please show your Stanford employee badge, and our staff will provide you with the new badge insert.
When you come in to donate and receive your fourth hole punch at registration, you’ll exchange your badge card for an e-gift redemption card. Follow the instructions on the redemption card to claim your reward. You can get a new badge card each year beginning in January.
How often you donate blood depends on what type of donation you’re making! Generally speaking, if you are 18 or older, you can donate whole blood every 56 days or make a SuperRed™ donation once every 128 days. Donors can donate platelets approximately every seven (7) days. This EDIP program is currently available for whole blood, SuperRed™ and platelet donors only. It is not currently open to plasma donors; however, other valuable incentives are available for our donors year-round. Visit stanfordbloodcenter.org/promotions for our monthly incentives!
