Christmas In The Park: More Than Your Typical Holiday Celebration

Stanford Blood Center is proud to be your community blood bank, serving the San Jose area since 1978. Our number one priority is supporting local patients in need of blood products, and we could never accomplish this without the help of our local community. That’s why we take extra care to show our gratitude by supporting other local non-profits throughout the Bay Area, especially around the holidays.

One such organization is Christmas in the Park: A San Jose Tradition. For over 35 years, the glittering lights of Christmas in the Park have drawn over 600,000 visitors each holiday season. This event is free for all attendees, and spreads holiday cheer while benefiting local businesses. With over 500 decorated trees sponsored by local schools, businesses and charity organizations; 40 holiday displays; activities and rides for the kids; and possibly the best gourmet hot chocolate in California, this event is one you won’t want to miss.

For the third consecutive year, SBC is sponsoring a tree. Our theme this year is definitely a little outside the box: we designed our very own “Count Stanford” to remind visitors to the park that every donation ‘counts’ (get it?). We will also be hosting a blood drive at Plaza de Cesar Chavez on Sunday, December 22 from 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

We hope you will stop by our tree (which will be up until the day after New Years) and consider the people you could help by donating blood. You can make an appointment for the drive online at sbcdonor.org. Wishing you all a joyous holiday season!
