Still searching for the perfect gift? Give Good!

Our Give Good effort continues throughout the holiday season. When you give blood, you give the gift of life to the people in your community who need it most. It will cost nothing except about an hour of your time, we’re still open on December 24, and our parking lot is less crowded than the mall. We’ll even handle the wrapping and shipping for you for free!

To make your holiday donation go even further this year, you’ll also be helping our holiday partner, Humane Society Silicon Valley. For each donor who rolls up their sleeve, a donation will be made towards lifesaving vaccines and other medical needs for animals. With your help, patients in the local hospitals we serve will get the blood they require for treatment. Plus, puppies and kittens at the shelter will get the vaccinations they need to be healthy pets.

Blood donors like Shelle Alvord, pictured to the left, have cheerfully stepped up to help out. Many donors who give blood during the holidays consider this their gift to our community. It is an important time to be a blood donor, because many regular donors are traveling or too busy to donate. On top of that, we tend to have a lot of sick cancellations during the winter. Yet the need does not go away.

Donate blood at one of our centers or mobiles Wednesday, December 18, through Sunday, January 12, and you’ll receive a collectible tote bag (modeled below by SBC’s friend Casey). Check out our Facebook page to see more photos of beloved pets and to post your own.

We need donors of all blood types, but hospitals are particularly asking for O-negative blood. If you are O-negative or know someone who might be, please make an appointment to donate or help us spread the word.
