Give blood and catch a movie

Stanford Blood Center is partnering with the Redwood City Events Team for the first time to bring you a blockbuster of a blood drive! On Thursday, July 10, we will be running the drive just before the Movie on the Square gets started. You’ll find our bloodmobile right in front of the Fox Theater on Broadway from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. taking life-saving blood donations.

Right after the blood drive ends, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial will begin. E.T. tells the story of a group of children who selflessly help their friend get back home. Blood drives tell the story of folks like you helping local patients get back home, so the two are a natural fit. In keeping with the Movie Night theme, each donor will receive a Cinemark movie ticket as a thank you. You can return to Downtown Redwood City and catch a movie at the Century 20 that weekend!

So come on down, grab some take-out from one of the many nearby restaurants, set up your chairs and blankets for the movie, and save lives while you wait for it to start!

Stanford Blood Center must collect over 1000 units each week just to meet the needs of local patients, and we depend on our local communities to make that possible.
