Making up 37.4% of the US population, the O+ blood group is the most common. And while you may not be so rare that you’re purely mythical, you are extremely important since O+ blood is also the most commonly needed for patient transfusions — so be like the narwhal and make an extra “point” to donate whenever you can! You can make an even bigger “splash” when you donate double red blood cells.
